Salary Range: $14.30* to $20.80 / per hour

Work Schedule:
Must be able to work full-time at least 12 weeks during the summer months; may work full-time and/or part-time year-round if there is mutual agreement between both the supervisor and the student.
 
Duties:
This internship serves to both train the incumbent in higher level work and to support the work of higher level Technicians and Specialists.
 
• Assist Specialists with oversight and coordination responsibility for implementation of the Field Office monitoring program.
• Assist in leading, coordinating, interpreting and implementing a comprehensive monitoring program.
• Makes recommended changes to monitoring programs and involved in planning and executing all Field Office resources monitoring plans.
• May utilize motor vehicles to include 4-wheel drives and ATV's.
 
Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college/university.
• Must be taking at least a half-time academic course load leading to a degree or certificate.
• Must possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be accepted, enrolled, or have completed a professional degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related discipline/academic program.
 
Important Information:
• Must be a student the duration of the appointment while acquiring 640 hours of work experience in the BLM Internship Program in order to be eligible to be converted to a permanent, Federal Government position upon successful completion of the program.
