Job Description 
Will provide general assistance to the CropLife America Communications department and tactical support for department-wide projects and events.

Position Summary:
This newly created position provides general assistance to the CropLife America Communications department and tactical support for department-wide projects and events. Additional duties and responsibilities include administrative support of the communications department by performing a wide range of duties of a highly responsible, autonomous, confidential and deadline-oriented nature requiring comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies, practices and procedures.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communications
  • Support the communications department’s administrative needs, including expense reports, process invoices, manage periodicals and subscriptions, scheduling of meetings booking conference rooms, AV and other duties as assigned.
  •  Support Communications Coordinator in creation and execution of weekly newsletter.
  • Support in-house editorial and content needs for social media, website and print materials.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials and minutes for Communications Outreach Committee (COC).
  • Facilitate meetings, including conference room reservations, clean up, AV and serving as point person.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all Council of Producers and Distributors of Agrotechnology (CPDA) communications requests.
  • Assist in coordination of media events as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.
 
 
Website and Multimedia
  • Assist communications coordinator in and act as backup for posting materials to the CropLife America website in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in providing photography support for association events as needed.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to support the production of effective communications materials.
  • Strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, evaluative and constructive thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
 
Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure
  •  Bachelor’s degree or five years of administrative support experience.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) a plus.
  • Expert in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Prior experience in writing and editing copy.
  • Experience working in SquareSpace, Survey Monkey and MailChimp.
  • Familiarity with the Associated Press style guide.
 
 
 
Language Skills
  • Must have strong command of the English language.

  • Our office is located in Arlington, Virginia and while employees are allowed to telework, candidates must reside in the DC Metro area.
