Job Description

Forage Genetics International (FGI) is one of the only companies in the world devoted solely to forage. We breed, develop and produce premier seeds and technologies that not only advance your operation but also move the whole industry forward. We are currently searching for a Marketing Director to join our team.

Role / Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute highly impactful, strategic marketing plans to drive trait adoption and earnings for HARVXTRA and ROUNDUP READY Alfalfa.

• Develop and execute highly impactful, strategic marketing plans to drive growth and earnings for FGI’s internal brands (WL, NexGrow, America’s Alfalfa), and partner with Winfield

• United’s CROPLAN.

• Partner with key accounts to maximize impact and earnings via licensing of genetics and traits, utilizing relationship management and co-marketing programming

• Coordinate with other FGI Leadership Team members to ensure plans are fully adopted and executed, including higher interaction with Sales, Business Development, and R&D

• Build exceptional trend, insights, and market sizing information to FGI via primary and secondary research, along with involvement in key industry associations (e.g. NAFA). Also includes deep understanding of hay markets.

• Build a high performing engaged marketing team through effective talent acquisition, development and performance management.


Required qualifications: Education and experience

• Robust understanding of the commercial alfalfa market/industry or other agronomic products

• Proven ability to create and execute innovative marketing plans and manage for success

• Experience in agronomy products/services environment

• Demonstrated ability to manage ROI and budgets

• Proven ability to build and lead teams successfully

• Multi-channel experience required

• Experience managing external partners and agencies

• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

• Strong orientation toward achieving results with and through others

• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

• Competencies:

• Strategic and Innovative Thinking, Effective Communication, Leadership, Results Orientation, Critical/Analytical Thinking, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across internal functions


Preferred qualifications:

• Degree in Marketing or related field with an MS in Marketing or MBA

• 10 years marketing experience, including 3+ years in a management role
