ABOUT HANDSOME BROOK FARMS
Handsome Brook Farms (HBF) is the industry leader in organic, pasture-raised eggs. As a leader in this space, we sit at the forefront of the movement away from large factory farming and in support of the small family farmers who work tirelessly to feed our country. We currently work with over 100 independent farmers raising more than 1-million layer hens. We have developed and strictly follow standards for Pasture Raised hens that ensure that our hens forage freely outdoors with protective cover and are able to nest and sleep safely indoors at night with plenty of room to roam, perch, and exhibit natural chicken behavior. The health and welfare of our hens, the quality of our eggs, and the stewardship of our land are our top priorities.
For us, organic and pastured is the gold standard; it means our hens are treated well and fed the best diet, our farmers are paid fairly, and our eggs are rich with flavor.
Although you won’t find too many farms located in the middle of New York City, we are proud to say our headquarters are in Manhattan. Much of our staff currently work remotely with proximity to “HQ” and serve in roles ranging from corporate finance, operations, compliance oversight, and corporate responsibility, while others work “in the field” to directly support our network of farmers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design and execute a results-driven social media strategy
· Create engaging content (written, video, and photo) for social media platforms (Note: this will require travel to farms <20% of the time)
· Strengthen and maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
· Support HBF‘s ambition to become the ‘authoritative voice’ on regenerative poultry production through PR/media pitches
· Monitor social media channels for industry trends
· Research competitors to stay current with similar products or services on the market
· Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
· Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
· Attend events and produce live social media content
· Assist in drafting decks for sales and customer update efforts
· Assist in the creation of an annual Impact Report
· SEO (search engine optimization) and generation of inbound traffic
· Create and track the use of digital coupons
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
· 3-4 years of experience with B2C content development and social media marketing
· Passion for food and environmental sustainability
· Ability to translate complexity into digestible content
· Proven ability to tell compelling stories about people, places, and product
· Proficiency with major social media platforms and management tools
· Proficiency with video and photo editing tools - Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent
· Proficiency with website editing (currently hosted on Shopify) and newsletter execution (Mailchimp)
· Excellent social listening skills
· Understanding of historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
· Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
· Strong oral and verbal communication skills
