Position Summary: 
The Regenerative Agriculture Project Manager will implement The Nature Conservancy’s regenerative agricultural initiatives in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. They will work closely with the agriculture sector, nongovernment organizations and government agencies on implementing projects related to water quality, wildlife habitat, soil health and natural climate solutions. The Regenerative Ag Project Manager will work closely with the Agriculture Strategy Manager to help implement the Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota Chapter's regenerative ag strategy through engagement with farmers and local/regional members of the agricultural sector and conservation partners in TNC’s project areas.
 
 
This position will require up to 25% travel, a valid driver’s license and compliance with The Nature Conservancy’s auto safety program. The preferred location for this position is The Nature Conservancy office in Minneapolis, but consideration will be given to other locations in MN such as St. Cloud, Rochester or Mankato. The starting salary range for this role is expected to be $53,000-$65,000 negotiable and dependent on location and experience. In addition, TNC offers a robust benefits package.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Steward, facilitate, and leverage existing and new relationships with members of tribal, state and federal agencies, as well as the agriculture sector, including farmers, producer groups, conservation partners, and supply chain partners, to implement TNC programs and strategies that lead to increased adoption of sustainable practices, including soil health and nutrient load reduction management.
- Write grants, funding proposals and provide grant management for program and partners.
- Represent the Conservancy as a respected voice in agriculture.
- Facilitate meetings, trainings, and outreach efforts.
- Serve as a resource for farmers and farmer advisors relating to implementation of nutrient management and soil health BMPs
- Help design, implement and direct multiple complex projects, setting and meeting deadlines, and ensuring project accountability.
- Represent the Chapter on Conservancy regional work teams.
- Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.
- Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree and 3 years of experience in conservation, agriculture or agronomy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing projects, including managing finances, with a wide variety of partners, both internal and external.
- Experience working with the agricultural community.
- Experience working effectively with partners and stakeholders and building positive relationships with a variety of partners.
- Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Fluency in English.
- Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
- Must have valid driver's license.
