Position Summary  

Preferred by Nature is seeking an Assistant, Supply Chains. Preference for location is North Carolina but qualified candidates from other locations on the east coast will be considered. Preference will also be given to candidates that live near a major airport hub. The Assistant, Supply Chains will coordinate the execution of PbN/NEPCon CoC certification services for a subset of existing PbN/NEPCon clients in the US and Canada. This role will be directly involved in all aspects of Supply Chain certification audits including scheduling, project management, customer service, management of contract
auditors and quality control.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Coordinate the execution of CoC audits in the US and Canada to include budgeting, service contracts,
    team identification, logistical planning, support to consultants, report review, liaison with clients and
    finalize reports for approval.
    • Develop and implement annual audit schedules and ensure timely and efficient completion of annual audits.
    • Ensure efficiency, quality control and adherence to technical and administration certification protocols for all jobs directly under his/her responsibilities.
    • Coordinate with consultants on agreement scope of work and subsequent deliverables.
    • Provide customer service to current and potential clients to include, but is not limited to, providing
    information about certification, guidance on interpretation of certification standards and trademark use.
    • Manage and maintain technical and administrative databases (e.g., Salesforce).
    • Monitor and maintain the status of the certificate client portfolio (activations, suspensions, terminations, changes in scope, updating customer data, etc.).
    • Develop strong expertise in Preferred by Nature and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) CoC policies and protocols.
    • Other duties as assigned

 

required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree desirable, concentration in Forest Products, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field preferred.
    • 1- 2 years of work experience, preferably in forest product industry, forestry, paper and print industry or
    related field.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English required.
    • Knowledge of certification systems and/or FSC certification a plus.
    • Strong word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentation skills.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Strong attention to detail; and
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Position Details
• Work time: 35 hours/week (full-time)
• The position reports to our Manager, Supply Chains
• Working location: home-based, remote office
• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Expected starting date: as soon as possible
