Join our team! The Washington State Conservation Commission seeks a Communications Consultant to lead efforts that engage people with conservation.
This position will work under the direction of the Communications Manager and will be responsible for leading comprehensive and inclusive information and marketing strategies that engage target audiences with voluntary conservation programs and activities of the Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) and conservation districts.
You will analyze target audience understanding of SCC/conservation district programs and determine/implement appropriate communication objectives and strategies to increase engagement with our conservation and working lands activities. You will lead public relations for high-profile state programs serve as lead agency spokesperson and prepare and disseminate materials to news media. You will serve as the agency’s Accessibility Coordinator and manage the agency’s social media presence. You also will coordinate, prepare, and disseminate informational materials, such as annual and special reports translate agency written materials into Spanish and assist with web content management.
