From September 24–26, 2026, the heart of Atlanta was filled with unmatched energy, ambition, and purpose as students, industry partners, and advisors gathered for the 2026 MANRRS Leadership Academy. Centered on the theme Strong Roots. Bold Futures, the three-day academy served as an incubator for intentional leadership, career elevation, and community building across all six MANRRS regions.
While attendees immersed themselves in high-impact programming, ranging from industry trend analysis and research presentations to interactive workshops and mock interviews, the true standout of the weekend was undeniable: the exceptional caliber and vibrant engagement of our student leaders.
Throughout every workshop, roundtable, and networking session, corporate partners, advisors, and guest panelists echoed a unanimous sentiment: the depth, drive, and professionalism displayed by our student members were second to none.
Whether delivering 30-second power pitches during the opening MANRRS 360° Blitz, asking insightful questions during MANRRS Morning Live, or engaging in genuine, two-way exchanges during the Lunch-N-Learn Roundtables, students showed up ready to lead.
“What stood out most was the caliber of our students. They came prepared, they were curious, and they were intentional about building relationships and positioning themselves for what comes next. Our partners consistently told us how impressed they were by the confidence, professionalism, and leadership they saw throughout the Academy. MANRRS is about creating the environment, access, and opportunities that allow our members to demonstrate the potential they already possess," shared Ebony Webber, Chief Executive Officer of MANRRS.
The Leadership Academy was designed not just to transmit information, but to actively build competence and connection across five key pillars: Strategic Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Global Agility, and Networking.
"Strong Roots. Bold Futures. is more than a theme—it reflects how we are thinking about leadership development at MANRRS. Our roots are the community, relationships, and legacy that have sustained this organization for more than four decades. Our responsibility now is to build on that foundation by preparing our members to lead in a rapidly changing industry. The Leadership Academy gives students the space to strengthen their skills, expand their networks, understand where agriculture and natural resources are headed, and see themselves as leaders in that future, CEO Ebony Webber reflected.”
The Academy concluded with a powerful Commitment to Action exercise led by Undergraduate Student President Kelsey Stone, followed by an inspiring keynote address from Ginneh Baugh, Chief Impact Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Participants filled out commitment cards outlining clear, actionable goals—from submitting research to pursuing new mentorship opportunities—ensuring that the momentum built in Atlanta carries into campuses and workplaces nationwide.
The 2026 Leadership Academy proved that when you plant students in an environment rooted in community, mentorship, and access, their futures know no bounds.
To our students, partners, and advisors: thank you for making the 2026 Leadership Academy a resounding success. Keep leaning in, staying curious, and leading with intention!
