Introducing Jameila Dudley—a MANRRS RAP intern turned Forest Service professional, whose experience transformed her skills, connections, and commitment to public service.

Journey in Agriculture

My journey with the Forest Service began in 2023, as an intern with the Resource Assistants Program under MANRRS. Attending the orientation in Colorado in June 2023 set the tone for everything that followed for my career.

I felt inspired and welcomed through the passionate leaders and other driven interns. During my 7-month time of the program, this allowed me to gain hands-on exposure, build connections, and receive full time employment as a Grants Management Specialist with the Forest Service in February 2024.

I believe that my experience with the program prepared me in reviewing and analyzing grant proposals while ensuring every dollar granted made the most impact. This experience has given me a learning view of the unique challenges and opportunities in federal grant processes. I am grateful that RAP and MANRRS gave me the opportunity to deepen my commitment to helping the public service.

Where is jameila now?

Jameila is now a Grants Management Specialist with USDA Forest Service — Southern Regional Office, Office of Grants and Agreements.
